New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 27, 2021) follows:

Developed and published by Bungie, Destiny 2 is a massively multiplayer online first-person shooting game where the world is as dynamic as the players.

The game was launched in 2017 on the PC, while the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X were released in November of 2020.

Players are given the option to choose from three Guardian Classes – Titan, Warlock, and Hunter, each of which offers unique abilities. You can enjoy the game either playing co-op with your friends or go against them in competitive PvP.

Despite the game being years old, it still remains in the list of top 10 most played games on Steam. This is because Bungie regularly updates the game with new exciting expansion packs, events, weapons, and balance changes.

Naturally, the game has had a few hiccups with some bugs and issues affecting players from time to time. For example, a recent bug resulted in Xur missing from his intended location.

Having said that, it looks like a new issue is making the game unplayable for many. Lately, many Destiny 2 players are complaining that they are experiencing FPS drop on the PC version of the game.

Gamers say they have tried everything from reinstalling the humongous game to verifying files and updating their graphic drivers, but nothing helps.

It seems that the FPS drop is prevalent in some areas while other areas seem to be just fine. Even people with high-end systems are reporting frame drops, which indicates that the issue lies with the game.

Many say that the FPS drops are getting worse with every update.Players are saying that the FPS drops are attributed to the addition of BattlEye Anti-Cheat software, which Bungie included with Update 3.3.0.

It seems Bungie was already aware that adding BattlEye to Destiny 2 will cause FPS drops but went on with the decision anyway. Right now, there is no word from Bungie if a fix is coming out or not.

We hope Bungie works with BattlEye to resolve the Destiny 2 FPS drops as soon as possible since it is making the game unplayable.

When Bungie releases a fix, we will update this article to reflect the same so make sure you keep an eye out on this space.
