The first season of Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific and Call of Duty: Vanguard appears to be nearing its end. The expected date for Season 1’s conclusion was recently delayed, with a new start for Season 2 expected mid-February or later. Regardless, with Warzone Pacific and Vanguard’s season coming to an end soon, it’s no surprise that early details for Season 2 are beginning to leak. The leak confirms three new Operators planned for Call of Duty: Warzone, as well as some new weapons for the battle royale.
The leak comes from a piece of promotional art that Twitter leakers ZestyCODLeaks and Hydra9114 shared online. The piece of promotional art features three Operators prominently. The first, a woman sitting on a motorcycle, is named Anna Drake and is from Austria. Anna has two other Operators to her sides. The first in the mask is named Gustavo and the second in the furred coat is Canadian-Spanish Operator Thomas. Expect to hear more about these three Operators over the next several weeks.
Regarding the weapons, there’s no direct leak naming what they’ll be. Rather, leakers and Call of Duty fans inspected each of the leaked images for Season 2 and believe they know what the planned weapon releases will be. The three weapons are believed to be the Chauchat, KG M/40 LMG, and the Armaguerra OG-43. These aren’t wholly confirmed, however, so are best taken with an ounce of skepticism until more information is available.
The only other leaked information is said to be a new Ground War map for Call of Duty: Vanguard set in the snowy Alps. A leaked incomplete map for this map shows locations including a radar station, rocket site, castle, flak tower, and supply depot spread out between the Ground War map’s two home bases.
Call of Duty: Warzone players won’t have to wait long to find out whether these leaks are official, with Season 2 starting in the next few weeks. If players wanted more evidence of the accuracy of the leaks, for the time being, Activision has been copyright striking the leaks on Twitter over the past day.
It’s unfortunate that Season 2 for Call of Duty: Warzone was delayed, otherwise players would likely be hearing official information regarding these Operators and weapons by now. But, as Call of Duty: Warzone players know, the game has a lot of issues. The extra time will hopefully be used well, improving the battle royale in preparation for a Season 2 Call of Duty: Warzone players can enjoy.
Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
