The Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman who passed away on 28 August 2020 was honored by the Television Academy by giving the actor an Emmy Award.
Boseman received a posthumous win for outstanding character voice-over for T’Challa in the animated series “What If…?” from Disney+ and Marvel Studios.
The actor’s contribution to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is immense. He delivered incredible performances by playing the role of T’Challa in Captain America: Civil War, Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: End Game.
What If…? is an American animated anthology series created by A.C. Bradley for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics series of the same name. It is the fourth television series in the MCU produced by Marvel Studios and also the studio’s first animated series.
Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016. He kept his condition private and continued to act until his death in 2020 from the illness.
His final film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, was released posthumously the same year to critical acclaim which earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and a Gloden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama.
