The popular sci-fi series “Stranger Things” authors have announced that Season 5 will be its final season, and it appears that the series ending won’t continue as long as many had thought.

Even after the season 4 of the show was released, the “stranger authors” account on Twitter continued to be active. Many screenplays from well-liked episodes of the show have been posted, along with polls, behind-the-scenes images, and clips from “Stranger Things.”

On August 2, a tweet with a picture of a whiteboard with the words “Stranger Things” written on the top and the number five behind it featured some Season 5 updates. The fifth season’s preparations officially began with the posting of the image with the text “Day 1.” The post with the title “Grid stage” and a picture of a whiteboard with a grid drawn on it and eight episodes listed at the top seemed to spark a range of reactions from fans.

Some viewers seized the chance to write in the blanks on the board and share their predictions for the show’s concluding season. Eddie Munson’s return was a common request made in the Twitter comments, and other people expressed disappointment since the previous season seemed to contain only eight episodes.

The show’s seasons 1 and 3 each featured 8 episodes, while the second and fourth seasons each had 9. The fourth season of the show featured episodes that were far longer than usual, with the final three episodes of about 1 hour each. The show’s seventh episode lasted an hour and forty minutes, its eighth episode an hour and twenty-seven minutes, and its concluding episode a staggering two hours and twenty-two minutes.

The Duffer Brothers, also known as The Duffer Brothers, are the show’s writers. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August 2022, they discussed the lengthy episodes of Season 4 and suggested that the episodes in the final season would be shorter, with the exception of the significant series finale.

“I don’t think the run times will be as extreme in Season 5,” Matt told sources. “We’re trying to return to the simplicity of the structure in Season 1, with bigger scale and scope. Except for the finale, which I’m expecting will be pretty massive.”
