Season 24 of Big Brother is considered one of the best seasons in recent times, according to Janelle Pierzina, the show’s legend and former participant in four seasons. Janelle Pierzina is a Big Brother icon who participated in four seasons of the show. Janelle is regarded by many fans as one of the greatest houseguests in Big Brother history. Due to her unrivaled physical and social gameplay, she is known as the “Queen of Big Brother.” She started her Big Brother career in 2005 with season 6, and she reappeared for season 7, the inaugural all-star game. She established a record for winning the most individual competitions in a season during that time period.  With a total of nine victories, including four Head of Household (HOH) victories and five veto wins, Janelle earned the nickname “Veto Queen.” In the contest, she finished third once more. She also took home inaugural America’s Favorite Houseguest award.

Janelle reappeared in 2012 as one of the coaches for Big Brother 14, and she later entered the competition as a participant, finishing in the 12th position. She also participated in Big Brother 22’s second all-stars season in 2021, where she finished 14th and was promptly singled out for eviction by the other housemates. They did this since they were intimidated by Kaysar Ridha, her best friend on Big Brother, and her past seasons’ excellent gaming. Janelle spent 16 years participating in Big Brother, thus she has witnessed the game’s evolution. Since newer contestants will never be able to match the strong gameplay of previous seasons, many superfans have lamented that Big Brother’s golden age has passed. Janelle, a seasoned contestant, agrees that Big Brother 24 has been a pleasant shift from some of the show’s more recent seasons.

Janelle outlined her reasons for liking Big Brother 24 in an interview, describing it as “one of the best modern Big Brother seasons I’ve ever seen.” She said that it’s because “it’s not like a bunch of sheep following one person and then just completely voting with the house. Unanimously voting people out of the game and little to no strategy. This game has a lot of strategies right now, I think.”  Big Brother 24 has experienced numerous blindsides, such as when the seven members of the Leftovers alliance joined together to flip the house and save Taylor Hale. Superfans have even drawn comparisons between Season 6 and Big Brother 24. Janelle is also having fun observing how the alliances compete. She agreed that The Leftovers are already disintegrating and questioned if it will happen in the coming weeks.

Season 24 of Big Brother has been Janelle’s favorite yet she dislikes seeing one powerful alliance steamroll all others throughout the season. She shared, “It’s so interesting to watch. I would say it lines up there with, for me, I love Season 20 because I love fighting alliances. I like to root for the underdogs.”  Level Six was the winning alliance in Big Brother 20 and included future stars Tyler Crispen, Kaycee Clark, and Angela Rummans. Because of this, Janelle said that she “always rooted for that horrible [opposing] alliance, The Hive? They were so bad. But I loved watching Bayleigh [Dayton] try to figure it out.”

Janelle may be right when she claims that season 24 has brought back some of the thrilling energy that was felt in previous seasons, despite the fact that some Big Brother fans believe the game has changed for good. It has been enjoyable to watch the players put their games on the line in order to alter the votes and acquire power in contrast to previous seasons where they would simply vote with the house to stay safe. Many people believe that Michael Bruner, a fan of Janelle’s who has already won two HOH games and four Power of Veto challenges, embodies the essence of Janelle’s gameplay. The impact Janelle had on the program was undeniable, and it is exciting to witness the Big Brother 24 houseguests strive to match her level of competitiveness.

Big Brother premieres on CBS on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST and 9 p.m. EST, respectively.
