New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on March 17, 2022) follows:

Used by more than 3.2 billion people as their main browser as of 2021, Google Chrome is undoubtedly the most popular browser in the world.

With more than 62% of total browser market share as of February 2022, alternatives such as the Chromium-based Edge and Firefox are nowhere close to Chrome.

But as is the case with every other application, Chrome users are susceptible to bugs and issues like images appearing distorted and pixelated and zoom in shortcut not working on macOS.

Adding to the trouble, Chrome users are now saying (1,2,3,4,5) that they are getting a Redirect notice whenever they click on a Google Image Search result.

Users say they are getting an option to proceed to the page where the image is or go back to the search results. The glitch seems to be frustrating a lot of users, especially those whose work involves searching for images on Google.

A bunch of users say the problem is affecting Safari and Edge as well. You can see in the image below what the Redirect notice looks like for affected Chrome users who click on an image searched via Google Image search.

As it turns out, a Diamond Product Expert on the Google Chrome Community forum has commented on the matter and said that they have escalated the issue where Chrome is showing a Redirect notice for images on Google image search results to the concerned team.

In the meantime, those irritated by the issue can try using the No Redirect extension and configure it with the below mentioned parameters.

If and when Google fixes the problem, we will be updating this article to reflect the same so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.

Update 1 (April 06)
