Ground War mode is unusual given that instead of a 6v6 fight for control of three control points, it has 32v32 players vying for control of five control points. The team with the most points (250) wins.

To succeed, you must employ a diverse playstyle, since players can utilize vehicles, rooftop snipers, and many use explosives to defend sites.

COD: Modern Warfare 2 Ground War squad spawn

However, COD: Modern Warfare 2 players aren’t impressed with the squad spawn system in Ground war mode and have suggested it be tuned to make the game playable (1,2,3,4,5).

The squad spawn system has both a positive and negative aspect. Its is advantageous because you can spawn on a teammate to give backup, support, and so forth.

The problem is that even if you kill or clear a hardpoint, HQ, or flank, the opponent can respawn a few meters away if they have a teammate nearby.

This hampers gameplay as most individuals simply camp at the enemy’s spawn location. Or players spawn in front of enemies and die instantaneously because a teammate was engaged in a fight.

Therefore, gamers prefer either spawn protection or the removal of squad spawn from Ground War mode.

‘Disconnected from Steam’ error

Several COD: Modern Warfare 2 players are reporting another issue where they are getting a ‘Disconnected from Steam’ error (1,2,3).

The affected players claim to have received this error and are unable to connect to Steam servers as a result. This renders the game unplayable, and it crashes every time they attempt to restart it.

Some have tried troubleshooting methods like verifying the game files, running it as administrator, and clearing the cache but nothing seems to work.

Bungie has yet to provide an official statement about any of these issues. That being said, keep an eye on PiunikaWeb to see if and when there are any new updates about the issues.
