New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 05, 2021) follows:

COD: Warzone, the successful battle royale, offers many weapons, items, and skins for character customization. An example of this is the Dark Aether camo, one of the player favorites.

However, COD: Warzone players are reporting that the Dark Aether camo looks very different from before, which is not pleasing to many.

Dark Aether Camo texture issue on COD: Warzone

The Dark Aether camo stands out for its highlighting violet colors and a 3D glass texture. This produces attractive effects depending on the angle of view of the weapon.

However, according to COD: Warzone players, the Dark Aether camo textures would be displaying incorrectly (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).

Reports say that, instead of its typical design described above, now the surface of the weapon with Dark Aether camo is matte, while the texture of the camouflage is shown in low resolution.

So, the new texture of the Dark Aether camo is much flatter, since it lost its ‘glassy’ effect and some detail, making it less striking.

Another complaint reported by users is that the original texture of the Dark Aether Camo perfectly matched “Disciple of the Dark Aether” skin, but now looks out of place.

Raven Software is already aware of the problem

Raven Software (the developers of COD: Warzone) have confirmed that they are already aware of this bug. The issue is currently under investigation:

However, the COD: Warzone team has not offered an estimated date for the arrival of a fix to the ‘broken’ texture of the Dark Aether camo.

We’ve added this issue to our Trello board for tracking.
