The Heavy Metal scene of America has seen comebacks from some legacy reigning bands this year. This includes the like of Lamb of God, Slipknot, Disturbed etc. Let us look at some of the comebacks and latest releases by some of the American Metal bands this year.

Disturbed: Disturbed made a comeback after four years with their band new release “Hey You”, this July. The new single was accompanied with a cinematic sci-fi video too. Frontman David Drainman informed last year that following up to their last releases in 2018, the new releases would be “angsty” and “aggressive”. He also added in his statements that the “old-school Disturbed” sounds would be back in their new releases. The new single “Hey You” has a galloping rhythm, which justifies what the frontman said about placing their new sound somewhere between “The Sickness” and “Ten Thousand Fits”. Draiman expressed that the song is a wakeup call after the pandemic. The song tries to aware us that we are our own worst enemy.

Lamb of God: The iconic American New Wave heavy metal band put on the table their first new release, “Nevermore” this June, since the release of their self-titled album in the year 2020 along with a MV. The song was a single from the upcoming album “Omens”. The band also put up the title track this July, and released a music video to the song, today, 28 July 2022. The title track “Omens” as stated by frontman, Randy Blythe, tries to emphasize on the fact that most of the mess that we create in our life could be avoided by focusing on repeating patterns.

Escape The Fate: Craig Mabbit, vocalist of Escape The Fate recently dropped some crazy vocals for the electronic music producer, SNAILS. The title of the track is “Alive”. The track is layered with Snails’ heavy signature sounds supported by Craig’s exclusive vocals. The track is a single from Snails’ new album, “HELIX”. Craig Mabbit features on the hook of the song and delivered what the sound designer was looking for his project. The intensely significant chord melodies elevates a listener to Snails’ world.

Falling In Reverse: Falling In Reverse has dropped two new singles in the year 2022. The first track, titled “Zombified’ was released in the month of January. The second release, “Voices In My Head” came up in the month of May, 2022. The sound and song writing pattern has quite many similarities with the band’s old releases. However, as always, the band and Ronnie Radke, the band’s lead vocalist has managed to present itself as fresh as possible. Both the song, reflects upon a person’s inner self, trauma and their inner battles.

Slipknot: The legacy carrier American nu metal band, Slipknot, is set to release their new album, “The End, So Far” this year. This is a comeback from their last release in the year 2019. The band recently released their new single, “The Dying Song (Time to Sing)”, this July, from the upcoming abum. The song is blended with a unique intro, the likes of which Slipknot has never presented before. The song starts off with a cappella by Corey Taylor and leashes into intense brutality as ever. The song is also accompanied with a mv that features a kaleidoscope type of visual perspective. Co-founder of the band, Shawn Crahan, popularly known as Clown, stated a year ago that the band’s new music is “God’s music”. The album is set to be released this September 30th via Roadrunner. The band’s single, “The Chapeltown Rag” that was released in fall, 2021, is also included in the album.
