The Grand Theft Auto franchise is dedicated to allowing gamers to take on the roles of morally-ambiguous felons and experience the thrill of the criminal lifestyle in all its ups and downs, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is no exception. Sometimes, this means that life in San Andreas gets a little out of control. One player trying out a mission in the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas ended up filming what may be the most chaotic 30 seconds the game has to offer.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas tells the story of Carl “CJ” Johnson, a former gangster who’s forced back into the criminal lifestyle after he’s framed for murder by corrupt police officers. Gamers are encouraged to take this set-up as an excuse to rampage across the game’s world and cause as much mayhem as possible, but some players appear to be more successful at this task than others.
Reddit user Praysed-Disc shared a short video showcasing what can happen when things get out of hand in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The video begins with the player driving around in a heavy lifting vehicle, attempting to shove barrels off a railroad–a task hampered by oncoming traffic in the street crossing the train tracks. A number of cars and trucks are soon forced to a stop at the intersection, leading to grumbling from the NPCs, but things really start getting chaotic when a plane inexplicably dives out of the sky and crashes into the brewing traffic jam.
The burning wreckage blocks the intersection, forcing a large truck to stop right on the train tracks. As the road erupts into flames, the player clears another barrel and begins driving away from the railway, and for good reason–a few seconds later, the train comes careening down the track and slams into the truck, sending it flying. This isn’t the first time a Grand Theft Auto player filmed something unexpected involving a train, but it may be one of the most memorable.
As of writing, it appears that other players find this footage very entertaining. Several users began discussing why this particular train could go so fast. It turned out to be connected to the specific mission Praysed-Disc was on. Other users discussed how planes behave in Grand Theft Auto games, with several sharing stories about times that planes inexplicably dropped out of the sky.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Physical releases for Xbox and PlayStation are due on December 17, with a Switch version coming early 2022.
